Cedar Crest Vineyards and Winery is nestled in the foothills of Mt. Lassen, in Manton, California. Cedar Crest became a federally bonded winery in 2009 and opened the tasting room on Valentines Day 2011.
Cedar Crest currently has 4 acres of vineyards that were planted in spring of 2008. The vineyard produces Petite Sirah, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc all on south/southwest facing slopes. The elevation of approximately 2800 feet has a climate very similar to the foothills of the northern Napa Valley. The vineyard is irrigated via a drip emitter at each plant and frost protected with sprinklers. The rich volcanic soil provides a great growing environment. In a typical year, bud break is in May and harvest is in October.
Owners, Jim and Corey Livingston, along with the rest of the family run the entire operation, from vineyard to bottle to you! Cedar Crest also produces wines for other Manton wineries.
Visiting Cedar Crest is more than just a wine tasting experience. The property features beautiful scenery and a park where visitors play bocce ball and barbecue tasty afternoon treats on the grill. Jim and Corey will even teach you how to play bocce and join you in this great couples game. You can bring your own food to barbecue or you can help your self to burgers and sausages with all the fixings provided by the winery.
Cedar Crest is available for private parties, weddings and special events for groups up to 250.
